Jonathan Taylor's short film "4 Minutes til Noon" a classic spaghetti-o western takes the Director's Choice prize at the Sacramento Film and Music Festival. The film was produced by Theresa Hoey and DP'd by Nick Ouellette who chose to skip bleach a positive print then telecine to HD to create the look of the film.

Camera Obscura Demonstration

Camera Obscura is latin for "Dark Chamber" The earliest mention of this principal was by Mo-Ti, a Chinese philosopher in the 5th Century BC - and later described by Aristotle and DaVinci.

In the 1500s a convex glass disc was used in place of the open hole in the camera obscura. It's said that the Italian glass discs resembled the brown lentils used to make soup and that the name "lens" came from the latin word for lentil.
